The University of Akron is inviting the campus to take part in the interview process as the school hires a new chief diversity officer.
The final three candidates will visit UA over the next two weeks.
Here are the finalists:
• Bryan D. Samuel, director of the Office of Equity and Diversity at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He will speak from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Monday in the Student Union Theatre.
• Ame Lambert-Aikhionbare, chief diversity officer at Champlain College in Vermont. She will speak from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Student Union Theatre.
• Jolene A. Lane, senior director in the Office for Diversity and Community Affairs at Teachers College at Columbia University in New York City. She will speak from 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 9, in the Student Union Theatre.
Each candidate will have separate meetings with students, staff, community members and university leadership.
UA is looking to replace former chief diversity officer Lee Gill, who left for the same position at Clemson University earlier this year.
