Make way for snowplows as communities across area issue weekend parking bans

Wondering whether your curbside car stands a chance against the snowplows on the first real wallop of a winter weekend this year?

Here’s the word from Hudson: Explore other possibilities.

From a neighboring community: Stow that vehicle somewhere else.

From Tallmadge: That Blue Devil is going to need to chill in a different spot.

From Ravenna: Quoth the Raven, “No parking until 10 a.m. Sunday.”

And so on.

The parking bans announced Saturday had begun to seem like a foreign concept to many Northeast Ohio residents who’d barely been able to measure snowfalls by the inch so far this winter. And they accompanied temperatures shivering just above zero degrees and wind chills gusting to -15 degrees.

If you’re unsure about whether or not your automobile will get dinged (or worse) for resting in the wrong spot at the wrong time — and you don’t want to bother checking your municipality’s website or Facebook page — you might want to ask yourself, “Do I feel lucky?
