A Canton man wanted for dragging a state trooper on Saturday night in southern Portage County turned himself in to authorities on Monday, according to the Kent-Ravenna Record Courier.

Todd A. Davison II, 29, went to the Stark County Jail and was later transferred to the Portage County Jail.

He faces charges of assault and failure to comply with the orders of an officer.

Sgt. Jeff Greene stopped Davison about 7:30 p.m. on state Route 225 north of the Portage-Stark County line in Atwater Township.

Davison took off with Greene’s arm extended into the vehicle. Greene was dragged about 50 feet and suffered minor injuries. He pursued Davison at speeds of 100 mph before abandoning the chase.
