MIDDLETOWN, OHIO: A woman accused in the beating death of her toddler has given birth to a baby boy.
WCPO-TV reports the Butler County Sheriff’s Office says Rebekah Kinner delivered the baby Monday afternoon.
Kinner was indicted in December and has pleaded not guilty to charges including involuntary manslaughter, child endangering and permitting child abuse. Bradley Young, her boyfriend, has also pleaded not guilty to charges.
Authorities say crews found Kinner’s 2-year-old daughter Kinsley beaten and unconscious at their Madison Township home in December. The girl died at a hospital the following day.
Kinsley’s father, Scott Senft, says he’s also the father of the newborn and plans to petition for custody and name the child Kingsley in honor of his daughter.
Kinner and Young are set to go to trial in April.
