CLEVELAND: The Indians will add three area restaurants as food options within Progressive Field for the 2016 season, the team announced Wednesday.
Happy Dog, Ohio City Burrito and Cleveland Pickle, all Cleveland-based eateries, will serve food in the newly renovated Infield District. These three restaurants will join the five that were inserted into the Right Field District before last season: Melt, Barrio, Sweet Moses, Great Lakes Brewing Co. and Dynomite Burger.
“Those local additions continue the club’s long-standing commitment to partner with local food service providers and producers,” said Curtis Danburg, Indians senior director of communications. “We’re very excited to bring all three restaurants [to Progressive Field].”
The Indians also expect additional local restaurants to partner with the team before Opening Day on April 4.
As for the other parts of the Indians’ second phase of renovations, the team is confident that all construction will be completed in time for Opening Day. Among the enhancements is a new, state-of-the-art scoreboard, updated banner video boards, a new sound system, a new club located behind home plate that will be available to season-ticket holders (in the Diamond Box and Field Box Front sections) and the opening of the main concourse to allow better views of the field while fans are away from their seats.
