Authorities are investigating a fire that damaged a two-story home at 739 W. Exchange St. in Akron early Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to the house at about 2:35 a.m. after a call about a person at the home having a gun.
When police arrived, there was smoke at the house but firefighters couldn’t immediately battle the fire until police first checked on the complaint, spokeswoman Lt. Sierjie Lash said.
No one was injured in the blaze.
The cause remains under investigation.
The fire caused about $50,000 to $60,000 in damage.
Details regarding the complaint about a gun were not available.
