AKRON: Authorities are investigating two homicides that occurred Thursday night after altercations at separate bars in the city.
A 39-year-old man was shot in the torso at 11 p.m. at the Hi-De-Ho Lounge on Vernon Odom Boulevard. He was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where he later died.
The victim has not been identified.
Police said several people witnessed the killing. Investigators have released few details but said they are trying to identify a suspect with the help of video and witnesses.
In the other incident, a 43-year-old man was involved in a physical altercation at the Zodiac bar on Triplett Boulevard shortly after midnight. He later died at Summa Akron City Hospital.
His identity also has not been released by authorities.
Beacon Journal news partner newsnet5.com reported that a suspect in his 60’s turned himself in to authorities about an hour after the fight.
