CLEVELAND: Authorities say a man stole a 75-year-old Uber driver’s car, cellphone and wallet in Cleveland.
The carjacking happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when the driver was dispatched to pick up a man at a gas station.
Once there, the man who ordered the car through the ride-sharing service told the driver to drive three buildings down, where a woman got into the car and asked the driver if he “wanted to have a good time.”
When the driver refused, police say the man took his keys, two smartphones and a wallet containing $60 from the driver’s pockets. Investigators say the man then ordered the driver out of the 2013 Honda hatchback and drove away.
It’s unclear whether the man was armed.
The incident remains under investigation.
