What went right: The Browns rushed for a season-high 232 yards on 36 carries (6.4 average), their most since they had 264 on Dec. 28, 2003, at Cincinnati. They rushed for 162 yards on 26 carries (6.2 average) in the second half, helping them rally from a 14-point halftime deficit to give themselves a shot at an upset in the waning moments.

What went wrong: Although quarterback Johnny Manziel rushed for 108 yards on 11 carries (9.8 average), he missed too many precious opportunities in the passing game. Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen blocked Travis Coons’ 51-yard field goal attempt as time expired in the first half. The Browns have allowed a blocked field goal in four of their past five games.

The bottom line: An upset could have strengthened the case of Browns coach Mike Pettine as he fights for his job, but it didn’t happen.
