The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several residential burglaries that have occurred within the city of Green and Coventry Township.
These burglaries occurred during daytime and early evening hours. The suspect or suspects knocked on doors, checked the residence for occupants, and subsequently forced open a door or window. The suspect or suspects have been entering the residences and stealing jewelry, cell phones, and other electronics, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office released a video of one burglary caught on home security camera on its Facebook page.
In that incident on Oct. 8 at approximately 7:51 p.m., a white male described as having short hair, approximately 6’0 in height, a heavy build, wearing black clothing and a black cap entered onto the front porch of a house in the city of Green. The suspect was captured on security footage as he entered onto the front porch and rang the front doorbell. The suspect momentarily left the front porch before returning and kicking the front door open. The suspect then entered the house and exited the through the front door a short time later.
