Tate Rhoads threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Ladson with one second remaining to break a 28-28 tie and give the visiting Golden Eagles (6-3, 4-1) the win over the Blue Streaks (5-4, 1-4).
The Blue Streaks led 14-7 at halftime but were outscored 24-14 in the second half by the Golden Eagles.
J.J. Olivera caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Rhoads with two seconds remaining in the third quarter to give the Golden Eagles a 21-20 lead, and Ladson scored on a 14-yard touchdown run with 2:29 remaining in the fourth quarter to put the Eagles up 28-20.
The Blue Streaks tied the score 28-28 with 1:33 left in the fourth quarter on a 39-yard touchdown run by Cameron Martin before Ladson’s game-winner.
Jackson 31, Green 14
Senior Jack Dear rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns and junior Jaret Pallotta threw for 203 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Polar Bears (7-2, 4-1) in a win over the Bulldogs (2-7, 0-5). Senior Robert Staudt threw for 355 yards and two touchdowns for Green.

Hudson 24, Wadsworth 17
Kevin Callahan scored on an 8-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to break a tie and give the visiting Explorers (7-2, 5-1 National Conference) a win over the Grizzlies (4-5, 3-3).
Callahan rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Explorers, and Alex Jones rushed for two touchdowns for the Grizzlies.
Barberton 33, Highland 21
Junior Zane Ries threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns and junior Keye Thompson rushed for two touchdowns for the host Magics (7-2, 3-2 American Conference). Junior Garrett Turnbaugh caught four passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns for the Magics.
North Royalton 12, Cuyahoga Falls 7
Dom Carriero scored on a 14-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to give the visiting Bears (3-6, 2-4) a National Conference win over the Black Tigers (1-8, 0-6). Joe Marousek threw an 11-yard touchdown pass for the Bears.
Twinsburg 37, Nordonia 13
Cam’Ron McClain rushed for three touchdowns and Adam Van de Motter threw a touchdown pass and rushed for a touchdown for the visiting Tigers (3-6, 3-3 National Conference).

Chris Vanzo and Mac Austin each rushed for a touchdown and Bubba Arslanian caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Austin for the host Greenmen (8-1).

Senior Marquise Bridges rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns and senior Garrett Haverstick threw two touchdown passes for the host Orangemen (7-2, 3-2) in a win over the Falcons (3-6, 3-2). Senior Jordan Jones threw two touchdown passes to junior Justin Moore for the Falcons.

Freshman Chase Miller scored the game-winning touchdown on an 18-yard run in the fourth quarter for the host Crusaders (6-3). The Golden Rams (3-6) led 13-12 at halftime, and that score held up until Miller’s game-winning run. William Shropshire rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown and Tyler Jones had a 62-yard touchdown run for the Golden Rams.

Marlington 21, West Branch 13
Jaquiez Sampson rushed for 267 yards and two touchdowns, including a 40-yard touchdown run with 1:21 remaining in the fourth quarter to put the game away for the host Dukes (9-0, 6-0). Chris Pennell threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Brady for the Dukes.

State tennis
Division I
Hudson’s Molly Sandberg dropped a total of six games while winning twice Friday in Mason to advance to a Division I singles semifinal match on Saturday against Columbus Centennial’s Zoey Weil.
Green’s Anne Zivick and Maria Zivick will play Magnificat’s Molly Bauer and Ana Lopez in a semifinal doubles match and Hallie Hunt and Alessa Koinoglou of North Canton Hoover will play Canfield’s Hannah Cianciola and Sydney Cianciola in the other doubles semifinal match on Saturday.
Cloverleaf’s Emily Dunbar will play in a Division II semifinal match on Saturday against Hathaway Brown’s Lauren Gillinov.
