A third man has been charged in a robbery last fall that left a Green man dead.
Summit County prosecutors say Trent P. Turner was the one who pulled the trigger, killing Corey Seibel in what was supposed to be a robbery for drugs.
Turner, 28, of Cleveland, pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and numerous other charges Wednesday during his arraignment before Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones. He is already in prison on an unrelated drug case.
Two other men, Spencer Sims and Ty’Shawn Henderson, previously pleaded guilty for the role they played in the Nov. 9 shooting.
Sims, 23, of Medina, was sentenced to 14 years in prison Sept. 12 after pleading guilty under an agreement with prosecutors to involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification. This was the maximum possible sentence he could receive.
Henderson, 23, of Medina, will be sentenced by Jones at 3 p.m. Nov. 21. He pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery with a gun specification.
Prosecutors say others still may be charged.
Several men went to Seibel’s Long Road home Nov. 9 to rob him of a pound of marijuana, according to police. Seibel was shot and killed. Police say Sims took the marijuana and fled with another man.
Turner has been charged with aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, trespass in a habitation, felonious assault, grand theft, having weapons while under disability and carrying concealed weapons. The charges come with two repeat violent offender specifications. He is currently serving nine months in prison for drug possession and is scheduled to be released Dec. 15.
Assistant Summit County Prosecutor Brian LoPrinzi said his office would suggest a $1 million cash bond for Turner.
Nathan Ray, Turner’s defense attorney, said he will argue bond after his client’s current prison sentence has concluded.
A pretrial has been set for Turner at 9 a.m. Nov. 16.
