High school roundup: Crestwood tops previously unbeaten Mogadore 24-7

Crestwood 24, Mogadore 7

Logan Thut rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown, and the host Red Devils (5-1, 1-0) scored 24 unanswered points to defeat the Wildcats (5-1, 0-1) in a County Division game.

The Wildcats led 7-0 after the first quarter, but Thut’s 1-yard touchdown run and two touchdown passes from Jake Tekavec gave the Red Devils an 18-7 halftime lead.

Tekavec threw a 72-yard touchdown pass to Jaleel Harris in the third quarter to give the Red Devils a 24-7 lead.

Harris and Jordan Fably each caught a touchdown pass in the second quarter for the Red Devils.

Woodridge 56, Cloverleaf 12

Mason Lydic threw three touchdown passes and Jacob Margroff returned two punts for touchdowns for the visiting Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0) in a Metro Division win.

Spencer Robinson and Robert Singletary each rushed for a touchdown and Sharif Howard caught two touchdown passes for the Bulldogs.

Ravenna 20, Coventry 18

Isaiah Bradley threw a 67-yard touchdown pass to Kymani Jones and had a 5-yard touchdown run for the visiting Ravens (3-3, 2-1) in the Metro Division win over the Comets (3-3, 2-1).

Bowen Brown had a touchdown run for the Ravens, and Steve Locher threw three touchdown passes for the Comets.

Dominique Robinson threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Javon Lewis in the second overtime to lead the visiting Bulldogs (5-1, 3-0) over the Blue Streaks (4-2, 0-2). Cameron

Martin rushed for two touchdowns for the Blue Streaks, including the game-tying 1-yard rush with 3:32 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Robinson had an 8-yard touchdown run and Rodell Norwood returned a punt 13 yards for a touchdown for McKinley.

Suburban League

Hudson 37, Cuyahoga Falls 6

Jackson Parker threw a touchdown pass to Jonah Wieland and the visiting Explorers (5-1, 3-0) had rushing touchdowns from three different running backs in the National Conference win over the Black Tigers (1-5, 0-3).

Stow 42, Twinsburg 14

Terrian Wray rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns and Joe Gobble rushed for two touchdowns for the visiting Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0) in a National Conference game. Kyle Vantrease threw a touchdown pass to Jared Wright for the Bulldogs.

Aurora 43, Highland 10

Gavin Blunt returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown and also caught a 61-yard touchdown pass from Michael Austin to lead the host Greenmen (5-1, 3-0 American Conference). Austin also had a 7-yard touchdown run and Chris Vanzo rushed for two touchdowns for the Greenmen.

North Coast

Archbishop Hoban 41, 
Mentor Lake Catholic 10

Grant Kersh rushed for two touchdowns and Todd Sibley had a 16-yard touchdown run for the host Knights (5-1, 1-0). Danny Clark threw two touchdown passes and Daulson Fitzpatrick returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown for the Knights.

Nonleague

St. Vincent-St. Mary 15, 
Steubenville 7

Myles Williams rushed for 182 yards and scored a crucial touchdown in the third quarter for the visiting Fighting Irish (3-3).

The Irish led 5-0 in the third quarter before Williams ran 80 yards for a touchdown to break the game open. Jaime Martucci kicked his second field goal of the game in the fourth quarter.

Barberton 41, 
West Holmes 14

Keye Thompson rushed for a career-high 213 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Zane Ries for the host Magics (4-2).
