COLUMBUS: Police say a 2-year-old child has died after he was found unresponsive in a pool at an apartment complex in central Ohio.
Columbus police say the boy was found in a pool at the Worthington Meadows apartments around 7 p.m. Thursday and died at a hospital a short time later. The child’s name wasn’t immediately released.
Columbus police Sgt. Stan Latta says the outdoor pool was still open for swimming. But he said he didn’t immediately have specifics about what happened and whether the child had been with an adult.
Latta said three patrol officers tried to resuscitate the child before a medic took him to the hospital.
