A 67-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with downloading child pornography from the internet.
Craig J. Provence of Coventry Township was booked into the Summit County Jail on two charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office indicated additional charges could be filed pending the outcome of the police investigation.
According to deputies, the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force alerted the sheriff’s office on Aug. 17 that an individual in Coventry had downloaded known images of child porn. An investigation was initiated.
On Aug. 20, sheriff’s deputies seized computers and electronic storage media after executing a search warrant at Provence’s Alma Road home.
