Step out, learn more about Fall Hiking Spree
The 53rd annual Fall Hiking Spree by Summit Metro Parks kicks off with an event from noon to 3 p.m. at Munroe Falls Metro Park, 521 S. River Road, in Munroe Falls. Meet with a naturalist and mascots at Maple Beach Shelter. Hiking forms will be available and Fall Hiking Spree T-shirts will be for sale. To earn a shield, all other hikes must be completed Sept. 1 through Nov. 30. www.summitmetroparks.org.
Start your engines, charge toward world record
Want to be part of a world record attempt? Cruise up to the Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield and join Ride for the Record, as motorcyclists will try to set a new record for most motorcycles started simultaneously as part of a fundraising event for North Coast Community Homes. The record attempt will be at 2:30 p.m. and there will be music, stunt riders and motorcycle displays, beer and food vendors, raffles, prizes, and giveaways from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 at www.Ride4Record.org; walk-ins and nonriders are welcome.
One World Day blooms at Cleveland gardens
One World Day runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Cleveland Cultural Gardens, Rockefeller Park, East Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. It features ethnic entertainment, food and drink, Lolley the Trolley garden tours, and a performance by Michael Stanley & Friends at 6:25 p.m. Free admission, parking and shuttle transportation. http://clevelandoneworldday.org.
