Officials of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad are investigating a small fire under a railcar on Sunday during the National Park Scenic tour.

The fire was quickly extinguished about 3:30 p.m. by fire crews and no injuries were reported, said railroad spokeswoman Kim Gillan-Shafron.

The car was unoccupied as was the adjoining car, she said.

The cause and a damage estimate have not been determined, she said.

The car was hauled to the railroad’s yard off Fitzwater Road in the northern part of the park.

The Polar Express holiday train tours went on as scheduled Sunday night, she said.
