Funeral services will be held Thursday for the owner of a Medina County tree trimming company who fell about 50 feet in late July when a tree he was harnessed to toppled in Bath Township.

Brian Lutheran, 36, died Sunday at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General.

Lutheran, a certified arborist who owns Premier Tree Care & Landscape, suffered numerous injuries in the July 27 mishap when he and another employee were working to remove dead or dying trees from a home on Appian Way.

Authorities say he was tied off to a live tree as he leaned to work on another tree when the live tree uprooted, taking Lutheran and nearby power lines down with it.

“Brian was truly an unbelievable fighter but he lost his battle [Sunday] morning against insurmountable odds,” his sister Christine wrote on a GoFundMe page set up to assist the family. “We ask for your continued prayers and energy to keep us strong … specially for Emily who knows Daddy is now in heaven taking care of the trees.”

The funeral service will be at noon Thursday at Craciun Funeral Home, 14925 East Bagley Road, in Middleburg Heights. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.

He is survived by his girlfriend of 10 years, Jenny Eisenberger and their daughter, Emily; his parents, Al and Ann and sister Christine.

Brian suffered a broken shoulder, pelvis, ribs and vertebrae, crushed lungs, damage to other internal organs and head trauma in the accident.

A GoFundMe account (gofundme.com/BrianLutheran had raised $23,525 by Wednesday afternoon to help pay for his medical expenses.
