Five robberies across the city over the weekend have prompted Akron police to ask the public for help identifying the culprits.
The robberies occurred as follows:
• Dollar General, 901 Copley Road, 11 a.m. Friday: A man armed with a handgun with a white T-shirt pulled over his head demanded employees open a safe. A customer was forced behind a counter with employees. The suspect fled with an unreported amount of cash. The suspect is a black man, 16 to 20 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 140 to 160 pounds. He wore a gray T-shirt and black or blue shorts with bright green on the bottom.
• 600 block Grace Avenue, 5 p.m. Saturday: A pizza delivery driver was robbed as he pulled into a driveway to take food to a customer. The robber pushed a gun into the man’s ribs and demanded money. He then fled with $30 cash. The suspect is a black man, 19 to 23 years old, standing at about 6 feet and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He wore all black clothing, including a windbreaker jacket with a hood and a bandana covering his face.
• O’Reilly Auto Parts Store, 1598 S. Hawkins Ave., 9 p.m. Saturday: A man entered the back door when an employee went to throw out trash. The man pointed a gun at the store manager and demanded money. He fled with an unreported amount of cash. The suspect is a black man, standing 6 feet 1 inch and weighing about 175 pounds. He wore a black ski mask, black gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt.
• Circle K, 1178 S. Arlington St., 10 p.m. Sunday: Shaheed Ali Isaiah, 21, of Jefferson Avenue, and Lakayshaa N. Knight, 18, of Dundee Avenue were arrested and charged with robbery after they allegedly attempted to steal a car from a woman refueling there. The victim said Isaiah managed to steal her car keys before he fled. Police reported they found her keys in Isaiah’s pocket. Knight told police they intended to steal the car so Isaiah could drive her home, according to reports.
• 1300 block of Doty Drive, 2 a.m. Monday: A 70-year-old Stow man was robbed after he attempted to see a woman he met on an online classifieds website. When he got out of his car, a man with a knife approached him and demanded the victim’s wallet. The robber then fled. The suspect is described as a black man, 16 to 22 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches. He wore a blue bandana over his face, a white tank top and black pants. The woman involved in the incident was black, 18 to 25 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. She wore a blue tank top and blue pants.
