See double at Twins Days
The Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg is this weekend. Billed as the “World’s Largest Annual Gathering of Twins,” it is open to all multiples — identical, fraternal, young and old, twins, triplets, quads — their families, and the public. Cost to attend the festival, which includes a parade, fireworks, food and rides, is $4. Parking is available at Twinsburg High School and Dodge Intermediate School at a cost of $3 per day for cars. Geek out in Downtown Akron
Downtown Akron will be Geek Central on Saturday. First, the Akron-Summit County Main Library hosts its Geekfest 2016 Mini-Comicon from noon to 4 p.m. at 60 S. High St. It includes an author panel, Trekkies vs. Jedi trivia, lots of cosplay, a build-your-own light saber workshop, and a ramen-eating contest, among other events. www.akronlibrary.org.

Check out breweries at Lock 3
The Blues & Brews beer festival returns to Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron from 2 to 5 p.m. A brewers circle ticket gets you in at noon for special beers and lunch. The general tasting will feature more than 100 beers from about 60 breweries, music and food by the Winking Lizard Tavern, which co-sponsors the tasting. Former Cuyahoga Falls and Hudson resident Bill Broun’s debut novel, Night of the Animals, has been earning praise from critics with its dystopian view of a future England.
