A Doylestown motorcyclist was seriously injured after his bike was involved in an accident with a car at about 10:30 a.m. Friday in Chippewa Township.

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol report, Jerry L. Cline, 45, was traveling northeast on County Road 5A when his motorcycle struck a car driven by Victor W. Cruder, 69, of Wadsworth. Cruder, who was westbound on County Road 150, stopped at a stop sign but failed to yield after the stop sign, the report said.

Cline, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital by the Chippewa Township Fire Department where he was in serious, but stable condition Friday afternoon.

Cruder, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was not injured.

The intersection was closed for about 2½ hours.
