SPRINGFIELD, OHIO: Authorities say a 4-year-old girl who apparently wandered from her Ohio home was found alone in a wooded area hours later, and her parents have been charged with child endangering.
The Clark County sheriff says a deputy found the crying girl about a half-mile from her family’s mobile home in Pleasant Township on Wednesday afternoon. The sheriff’s office says the child was shoeless, wearing only a T-shirt and a soiled diaper.
Authorities say the girl had suffered minor injuries and was taken to a medical center for treatment.
The sheriff says a family services agency put the girl into protective custody after an inspection found the family’s home was in “horrible” condition.
Her parents were arrested and jailed.
