Listen to ‘Magic of the Movies’

The movie-themed Blossom Festival performances by the Cleveland Orchestra are always a draw, and Sunday should be no exception with Magic of the Movies, featuring selections from Titanic, Back to the Future, Goldfinger and Star Wars, among others. The music starts at 7 p.m. but get there early to stake out your picnic spot. Tickets are $35-$120 at www.clevelandorchestra.com.

Take tour of Parade of Ponds

It’s your last chance to get inspired by this year’s Parade of Ponds, which runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tour booklets are $10 at www.waterxscapes.com; Hoffman’s Water X Scapes, 1021 E. Caston Road, Green; Biggins’ Big Dip, 197 Portage Lakes Drive, Coventry Township; Graf Growers Garden Center, 1015 White Pond Drive, Copley Township; and Mock Property Services, 37 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore. Proceeds benefit Akron Children Hospital’s Burn Center.

YEPAW to hold concert

The YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop) 2016 Concert Celebration will be at 4 p.m. at The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, in Akron. YEPAW was founded 27 years ago with the mission to “encourage youth through the arts to pursue lifestyles of excellence,” and includes year-round programs in addition to the popular summer session. http://YEPAW.org.

TubaSummer back at UA

TubaSummer returns at 7 p.m. to the Guzzetta Amphitheater, outside Guzzetta Hall on Buchtel Common, University of Akron, 157 University Ave., Akron. Tucker Jolly conducts the annual gathering of tuba, sousaphone, baritone and euphonium players from Northeast Ohio. Bring a blanket, lawn chair and picnic. It’s free.
