Ohio Gov. John Kasich released a statement from his failed presidential campaign that shows that he will not stay away from the Republican National Convention.
Quite the contrary. He’ll make seven formal appearances and other informal appearances — but not in support of Donald Trump. He’ll be campaigning for other Republicans.
He won’t take questions from reporters, his campaign advised.
Here’s the description of his appearances, delivered by Team Kasich Sunday afternoon.
“Governor Kasich will be attending a series of public and private events next week to support down-ballot Republicans, talk about creating a stronger economy and national defense, thank his supporters and visit with state delegations from across the country. In addition to the events listed below, Governor Kasich will be attending events supporting the National Republican Congressional Committee, the Republican Governors Association, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
“Media interested in attending the events should reach out to the individual event contacts for each event listed below. The governor will NOT be available for interviews at the events.”
