The FBI has taken over the investigation into the identity of a woman found shot multiple times along a Cuyahoga Valley National Park trail on Sunday morning.
Cleveland FBI spokeswoman Special Agent Vicki Anderson said investigators have not yet identified the woman. She asked for comment from members of the public who were in the area of Akron-Peninsula and Northampton roads in Boston Township, where the woman was found by runners in a nearby field.
“We’re asking that anyone who was even in the area and who hasn’t already talked with law enforcement to give us a call,” Anderson said. “They may not have realized they saw something, when they did.”
The woman is in serious condition at a hospital and is unable to communicate.
