The College of Wooster canceled classes and closed academic buildings Monday after receiving two bomb threats.
The liberal arts school says nothing was found after Wooster police and bomb-sniffing dogs from the Summit County Sheriff’s Department, Canton Police Department and The Ohio State University searched the libraries and Taylor and Kauke halls.
Classes will resume Tuesday, the school said.
Police issued a statement Monday afternoon saying they believe the two threats are related.
College spokesman John Finn said a threatening note was found inside the libraries early Monday morning. Another threat later cited Taylor and Kauke halls.
Police are following up on several leads.
“The safety and security of the college community is something we take very seriously, and we will continue to investigate this matter until it is fully resolved,” Wooster Police Chief Matt Fisher said in a prepared statement. “We will use every tool at our disposal to bring to justice the person or persons responsible. This event has utilized multiple resources, and we sincerely appreciate the cooperation from the college, and our local and federal law enforcement partners.”
The college and police didn’t say what was written in the note or whether the second threat was also a note.
