Revere refuses ‘Dahmer’ film
The Revere school district has turned down a request to film My Friend Dahmer on the premises.
The planned screen adaptation of John “Derf” Backderf’s acclaimed graphic novel about his youthful acquaintance with serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer had hoped to use Revere, where both attended.
In a terse email, district Superintendent Matthew Montgomery said, “The Revere Board of Education and I have decided partnering with this production is not in the best interest of our district at this time.”
Caila Quinn in ‘Paradise?’
After her run on The Bachelor ended short of romance, it appeared that Hudson’s Caila Quinn was done with reality-TV romance.
Her father Chris, CEO of Streetsboro-based toymaker Step2, said in March that she was unlikely to appear on shows such as Bachelor in Paradise, which begins a new season on Aug. 2. “I don’t know what she’s going to do,” he said, “but to the best of my knowledge, she’s not going to participate.”
Her initial focus involved marketing the workout program BollyX. But there have been repeated indications that Quinn is in fact in Paradise — and some that she is not.
In late May, Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss tweeted that Quinn was in the Paradise cast. But the tweet was later deleted, and ABC’s casting announcement in early June did not list Quinn.
But a recent story in US Weekly said Quinn will be on the show. The Wetpaint entertainment-news site has reported Quinn being seen on the show’s location in Mexico. And Quinn retweeted the story from US that included her involvement in Paradise.
Of course, the Bachelor shows have been known to pull switcheroos, including on Quinn. She was reportedly all set to star on The Bachelorette, only to be bumped in favor of JoJo Fletcher.
