AKRON: Two men face felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized $600,000 worth of cocaine and heroin following a traffic stop in Summit County around 1 p.m. Friday.
The patrol released details about the bust on Wednesday.
Authorities say troopers stopped a 2016 Lincoln Navigator with Michigan plates for a speed violation eastbound on Interstate 76 near the Lakeshore Boulevard and Bowery Street exit.
Troopers observed “criminal indicators” and a patrol dog was alerted to the vehicle.
Officers found six kilos of heroin and a half pound of cocaine during a search.
The driver, Roberto Campas, of Canton, 28, and the passenger, Ernesto Medina, of Bell, Calif., 32, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin and cocaine and aggravated trafficking in drugs — all first-degree felonies.
If convicted, each could face up to 30 years in prison and up to a $60,000 fine.
