LOGAN, OHIO: A Southeast Ohio city is banning water due to unsafe reservoir water supply levels a day after the city was issued a boil advisory because of water quality issues stemming from a water main break.

WCMH-TV reports the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office sent out an alert Sunday evening to the residents of Logan stating the ban will remain effective until the reservoir returns to safe levels.

Authorities say residents shouldn’t wash their cars, water their lawns or do anything else that could further drain the reservoir.

A boil alert had been in effect for Logan, Enterprise and Rockbridge after a major water main broke on Friday.
