Hope Will Never Be Silent, by Akron native Tessa Gaffney, will be presented at 8 p.m. at the Akron Civic Theatre. It’s a collection of stories and songs about love and compassion in the midst of the local heroin epidemic, and audience members will be seated on the stage up close with the performers. Visit Canal Day for food, music
Check out Canal Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including the Duck Derby starting at noon that offers the spectacle of hundreds of rubber ducks floating down the canal.
