STOW: Stow police responded to a bomb threat Sunday at Walmart, 3520 Hudson Drive, after a man called claiming there was a pipe bomb in the store.

Police said around 2 p.m., a Walmart manager reported she received a call from an unidentified male who said he was from the Stow Fire Department. He asked if the fire alarms were up to date and then indicated there was a pipe bomb in the store.

Walmart evacuated the store as a precaution.

Stow police responded with the fire department, which was on standby if needed.

The Summit County Bomb Unit arrived with a K9 officer who conducted a sweep of the store and didn’t find any bombs.
