An 18-year-old Akron man is wanted on charges that he shot and killed a man Monday night in a neighborhood near Arlington Plaza Shopping Center.

Akron police issued a warrant for Fred Taylor Jr.’s arrest. He’s charged with aggravated murder.

Taylor, who’s accused of killing a 23-year-old man whose identity has not been revealed, is a 5-foot-7, 162-pound black man. He has a thin mustache and a light beard and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt. Police warn that Taylor should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Akron police at 330-375-2490.

According to reports, Taylor is accused of shooting the other man multiple times at about 7:30 p.m. Monday near Nadia Court and Dahlgren Drive. The man was hit multiple times and attempted to run away, but collapsed in the 1000 block of Nadia Court. He was transported to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he died of his wounds at about 10 p.m.

Authorities say the slain man’s name will be revealed once his family has been identified and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office receives confirmation on his identity.
