Couple to receive award
FAIRLAWN: Bob and Regina Cooper have been selected as recipients of the third annual Stewart’s Caring Place Spirit Award.
The two will be recognized at the 13th annual Butterfly Gala benefiting Stewart’s Caring Place on Aug. 6.

Walk for Parkinson’s
CLEVELAND: The National Parkinson Foundation is holding its first Moving Day walk June 18 in Cleveland.
Money raised will help improve the lives of people living with the disease and their families, the group said.
Organizers said the walk will feature a pavilion showcasing yoga, Pilates, tai chi, dance and more activities that can help manage the symptoms of the disease by improving flexibility and mobility.
The event — in the University Circle neighborhood — will offer free parking for the first 300 cars at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center at 10701 East Blvd.

Caterpillar nursery reopens
WASHINGTON TWP.: The Caterpillar Nursery at Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve near Alliance is again open.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays to June 12. Admission is $2; ages 2 and under are free.
The nursery is used to rear butterflies and moths from live caterpillars to release into the Butterfly House for display.
The gardens are at 11929 Beech St. NE.

Conservation meeting
AKRON: The Summit Soil & Water Conservation District and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service are hosting a local work group meeting on June 16 on 2017 conservation priorities.

TWINSBURG: The city’s Friday night concert series, Rock the Park, will offer six concerts this year, all beginning at 7 p.m. at Perici Amphitheatre, 10260 Ravenna Road.
