AVON LAKE, OHIO: An Ohio woman who called 911 to report that her husband committed suicide by suffocating himself has been convicted of murder in his 2011 death.
The Lorain Morning Journal reports a jury convicted 58-year-old Jeane Harrington on charges including murder in the death of 55-year-old Michael Gabel on Monday.
The Avon Lake woman faces 15 years to life behind bars at her sentencing next week.
Gabel had been found with industrial-strength, restaurant-grade plastic wrap around his head.
A three-year investigation found that Gabel didn’t commit suicide. The Lorain County coroner instead determined Gabel died of asphyxiation, blows to his head and body and electrical burns.
Authorities believe Harrington used a stun gun on Gabel multiple times before suffocating him.
