A former teacher was charged Friday with abusing three children during nap time at a private school in Coventry Township.

Kiara Davis, 22, of Akron, is charged with three counts of child endangering. She’s accused of abusing three 3-year-old children between April 8 and 11. She is accused of dragging one by his ankle, holding one down on a mat and taping a girl’s mouth shut, according to Summit County Sheriff reports.

A fellow teacher at Little Steps Big Dreams Academy told management she witnessed the incidents. Davis was fired from her position after management confirmed the reports, deputies said. They then contacted the sheriff’s office to pursue criminal charges on April 12.

Davis is scheduled for arraignment in Barberton Municipal Court on May 2.

Management at the academy could not be reached for comment.
