HUDSON: A bear spotted near Walters Road prompted the city Tuesday to report on its website: “The annual bear migration through Hudson has begun.”
The sighting was confirmed, and the bear “wrecked havoc on a neighborhood bird feeder before wandering on its way,” the city said.
“Although they rarely cause problems unless cornered, it’s a good time to keep your pets on a leash and remove any food items from your yards to discourage them from hanging around.”
Hudson police dispatch, contacted late Tuesday, was unaware of any bear reports and couldn’t offer more details.
The city website said bears are spotted in Hudson every year and offered tips for “bear-proofing your back yard” at http://www.hudson.oh.us/index.aspx?nid=481.
