It looks like it will be another snowy Friday night in Akron.
The chilly and snowy start to April is enough to make us long for those warm December weekends.
For the second week in a row, forecasters are predicting a blizzard of snow pictures falling across social media feeds as another round of potentially measurable snow is expected.
The National Weather Service says the culprit is a trough of low pressure that made its way through Northeast Ohio Wednesday.
The low opened the door for a string of its “cool” friends to visit the area bringing along unseasonably chilly temperatures and snow.
The National Weather Service is not sounding the alarm just yet for the white stuff as its forecasters are calling for snow showers with little, if any, accumulation. Highs will struggle to reach the mid-30s on Friday with rain and snow showers predicted. The low Friday night will be in the 20s with snow showers.
Weather Underground, a popular website for weather enthusiasts, and Accuweather are predicting 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall in Akron on Friday. The Weather Channel is a tad bit more pessimistic predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow is possible on the ground by midnight on Friday.
Either way, don’t look for things to improve much on Saturday.
The National Weather Service says snow showers are likely Saturday with a high temperature struggling to reach 30 degrees
Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a chilly high around 40 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to rebound to the 50s by Monday.
