COLUMBUS: Ohio State University says a man with a medical emergency had to be pulled from a campus lake where students were gathered for the annual lake jump held before the Ohio State-Michigan football game.
City police dispatchers say the man was in cardiac arrest when he was pulled from Mirror Lake early Wednesday morning. Students annually jump into the lake on the Tuesday night before the two universities’ football matchup.
OSU’s director of public safety said that the man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He was not immediately identified.
Public Safety Director Vernon Baisden said the university was asking for help in identifying the man.
The jump was shut down shortly after the man was taken to the hospital.
The Ohio State-Michigan game will be played Saturday.
