A New Franklin man was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday morning while pulling from the road a deer he had just hit.
Randall Seaver, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred at about 6 a.m.
Police said Seaver was driving his 2015 GMC Terrain eastbound on South Main Street onto the state Route 224 entrance ramp when he hit the deer. He stopped his vehicle, backed up and got out to pull the deer to the side of the roadway.
While moving the deer, a Jeep Liberty attempting to get on the entrance ramp struck and killed Seaver.
No charges have been filed in the incident, which remains under investigation.
