CUYAHOGA FALLS: The city is making plans for one of its most ambitious street resurfacing programs in recent history.
So far, 27 streets have made the to-do list at a projected cost of about $1.7 million.
That’s slightly less money than the city spent last year, but it covers 139,777 square yards.
That is the greatest coverage area the city has tackled in at least 16 years, Mayor Don Walters said. The last three years, by comparison, ranged from 94,000 to 110,000 square yards. City Council is expected to approve the program Monday.
Portions of the following streets will be resurfaced:
• Sixth, Eighth, Ninth, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 23rd streets;
• West Bath, Northampton and State roads;
• Bath Heights and Prange drives;
• Front, Maplewood and Windsor streets;
• Grove, Notre Dame, Moulton, Myrtle, Silver Lake, Stow and Washington avenues.
In addition, grinding and repair will be done to segments of Birchwood and Firwood avenues and State Road West alley; and a portion of Hardy Road will get a chip and seal treatment.
Meanwhile, with pothole season at hand, residents are invited to report troublesome areas.
