Police have identified the man who died Tuesday after being shot on Copley Road in Akron as Damon Harris, 24.
Harris died at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center at about 4 p.m. He was shot at about 2 p.m.
The shooting occurred about a half-mile east of Buchtel High School.
Police said they were dispatched to a parking lot in the 800 block of Copley Road in response to reports of a shooting. An officer said he found Harris unresponsive, lying face down in the parking lot.
Harris of Hillwood Drive was transported to Akron General and died in the Emergency Department.
Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
