SPRINGFIELD TWP.: A Tallmadge woman was charged with child endangering Sunday after allegedly leaving her 1-year-old child in a parked car while she went shopping.
Amal Abed Goza, 42, is accused of leaving the sleeping infant strapped in a car seat in the Home Depot parking lot, 2811 S. Arlington Road.
The car was unlocked and running, a Springfield Township police report says.
A passerby notified the store and Home Depot manager Greg Wise waited by the car until police arrived. While police were at the scene, the mother returned with a 3-year-old and told authorities that she had left the car for only a short time.
Video surveillance shows the car arriving at 3:16 p.m. and police arrived at 4:09 p.m., a report says.
Summit County Children Services also was notified and met with the mother.
