Three Firestone High School students were suspended Friday after a school resource officer found marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia in the school.
The school was put into a short lockdown from 10:30 to 10:55 a.m. while the officer conducted a search following a complaint from a student.
Two girls were found with small amounts of marijuana. Drug paraphernalia also was found in a boy’s locker.
School district spokesperson Mark Williamson said the lockdown was not disruptive to the school day.
“There was no big disruption,” he said. “The most disruptive thing was all the rumors from students and parents that spawn when these things happen,”
